Venture Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a skilled Venture Analyst to join our investment team at RockawayX, where you will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and supporting early-stage investments in the crypto space. As a Venture Analyst, you will have the opportunity to develop broad coverage across crypto verticals, build technical fluency, and engage credibly with founders. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Venture Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include: Deal Analysis: Conducting due diligence on early-stage crypto projects across sectors and architectures, assessing businesses end-to-end, and building investment memos, market maps, and competitive analyses. Deal Sourcing: Generating deal flow through proactive outreach, community engagement, and ecosystem presence, building relationships with founders, builders, and other investors, and representing the firm at events, hackathons, and conferences. Portfolio Management: Monitoring portfolio company progress against milestones and market developments, preparing portfolio updates and performance reports, and supporting portfolio companies with research, introductions, and strategic input. Research & Thought Leadership: Tracking sector trends, contributing to the firm's evolving investment theses, publishing blog posts and knowledge nuggets, and representing the firm in public-facing research and ecosystem conversations. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: * A Bachelor's degree or higher, with a flexible background but a preference for technical fields such as computer science, engineering, or equivalent. * A generalist orientation with the technical capability to read technical documentation and engage with founders on architecture and design choices. * Prior investment experience required, at a crypto or traditional venture fund, or in an investing capacity at an operating company. * Curiosity across the crypto stack, with a point of view on where the interesting opportunities are forming. * Excellent research and communication skills, with clear, structured writing. * A self-starter who works independently.
