Technical Director, Builder Relations

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Technical Director to lead our Builder Relations team in APAC, empowering developers to integrate advanced data and AI capabilities into their applications and solutions. As a key member of our global team, you will directly engage with customers and the community to deliver meaningful experiences and inspiring content. Your passion for equipping builders and cultivating a vibrant developer ecosystem will shape the future of development on MongoDB. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Technical Director, you will lead a highly technical team supporting regional customer and community engagement. Your responsibilities will include: - Delivering schema design review sessions to customer development teams to guide their design, architecture, and use of MongoDB in the context of their specific or potential workloads - Delivering live developer enablement sessions to audiences of 40 to 400 developers - Collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and other teams to develop and scale effective enablement content for builders within strategic accounts - Sharing and adapting our best practices for effective customer and community engagement in the region, tracking business impact, and reporting on feedback and insights your team is actively collecting - Mentoring other team members, including Solutions Architects and Marketing partners - Growing as a recognized subject matter expert on document schema design, building on a deep understanding of core and AI MongoDB capabilities WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - At least 10 years of experience working with development or engineering teams in designing database schemas and implementing highly performant and scalable database methods, including 5 years of experience (or the equivalent) consulting with development teams as a non-member of the team - At least 5 years of experience managing and hiring technical teams of engineers or advocates - Strong presentation skills, with the ability to lead technical sessions at public events and online - A portfolio of code and content you've created, or led creation of, to enable developers and drive awareness - Willingness to travel (up to 60%) WHY REMOTE Our Builder Relations teams are distributed across the globe, with most members working remotely.
