Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE StockX is seeking a highly skilled Tax Analyst to join our collaborative Tax team. As a Tax Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting StockX's growing global business by analyzing transaction-level tax data, investigating variances, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Your work will have a direct impact on the accuracy of StockX's tax reporting, compliance readiness, audit support, and business decision-making. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting indirect tax compliance and reporting by performing data reconciliations, validating transaction and filing data, investigating variances and system exceptions, and partnering with Tax, Accounting, Product, and Engineering teams to improve tax processes and reporting accuracy. Your duties will also include: - Monitoring, reviewing, and managing indirect tax exemption certificates across North America - Investigating root causes of data issues and validating data fixes with Data Engineering, Product, Accounting, and Tax team members - Supporting indirect tax filing preparation by organizing filing data, validating reports, and reviewing filing workpapers - Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax compliance activities, including registrations, renewals, and recurring tax forms - Coordinating tax payment support by preparing payment details and confirming amounts to supporting documents - Maintaining thorough tax records, including filing support, reconciliation workpapers, payment and filing confirmations, tax notices, and audit support materials - Monitoring tax email accounts, triaging, categorizing, assigning, tracking, and escalating items as needed - Managing communications with taxing authorities on notices, account balances, filing status, payment application, registration status, audit inquiries, and other open matters - Checking taxing authority online portals for notices, account messages, filing confirmations, account balances, payment status, and required actions WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - 4+ years of experience in tax data analysis, finance operations, tax system implementation, or a similar analytical role - Proven ability to work with large datasets, reconcile data across multiple systems, identify variances, document findings, and communicate issues clearly to tax, finance, and IT stakeholders - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets - Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple reconciliations, notices, deadlines, and follow-ups simultaneously - Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including comfort corresponding with taxing authorities, following up on notices, and documenting outcomes clearly WHY REMOTE StockX is a remote-first company, and this role is designed to be performed from a remote location.
