ABOUT THE ROLE Carters Inc. is the leading North American retailer for babies and young children, and our store managers are the ambassadors of that brand. In this role you will lead a high‑performing team that delivers exceptional customer service, drives sales, and upholds the Carters culture of care, teamwork, and growth. You will be responsible for all aspects of store operations, from merchandising and inventory to talent development and financial performance, ensuring a seamless omnichannel experience for families across the country. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will recruit, coach, and develop a diverse team of associates, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and continuous learning. You will manage daily store operations, including scheduling, payroll, and budget control, while meeting or exceeding key performance indicators such as sales, conversion, and customer satisfaction. You will lead the Leader on Duty program, ensuring that every customer receives a warm greeting and expert guidance on product styles and benefits. You will analyze sales data to identify trends, develop actionable plans to increase revenue, and reduce loss through strong operational controls. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for all omnichannel initiatives, training staff on digital tools and ensuring a consistent brand experience across physical and online channels. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You have a minimum of three years of retail management experience, with a proven track record of leading and developing teams in a fast‑paced environment. You possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to interpret KPIs and translate insights into tangible results. You are comfortable using technology, including Microsoft Office, POS systems, and inventory management platforms, and you can quickly adapt to new tools. Your communication style is professional, solution‑oriented, and inclusive, and you can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive work culture. You hold a high school diploma or GED and can lift up to 40 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and work flexible hours that include evenings, weekends, and holidays. WHY REMOTE Carters Inc. embraces a distributed, asynchronous culture that empowers managers to lead their teams from anywhere. Remote store managers benefit from a flexible schedule that aligns with their personal and family commitments while still meeting business objectives through real‑time collaboration tools and virtual meetings. This approach fosters a healthy work‑life balance, reduces commuting stress, and attracts top talent from across the country. BENEFITS Carters offers a competitive benefits package that includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, a generous paid time off program, and a 30% discount on all Carters brands. Employees also receive a remote stipend, a dedicated learning budget, and access to the Advance You Program, which supports tuition for a GED or bachelor’s degree and English language courses. Additional perks include mental health resources, referral bonuses, parental leave, adoption assistance, and charitable matching gifts.
