Staff Product Manager, OpenTelemetry | UK | Remote

ABOUT THE ROLE Grafana Labs is a global leader in open observability, powering more than 35 million users and 7,000 customers across the world. As a Staff Product Manager for the OpenTelemetry Experience, you will shape the end‑to‑end journey that brings OpenTelemetry data into Grafana Cloud. Your mission is to make Grafana Cloud the most trusted destination for telemetry by simplifying instrumentation, reducing failure points, and ensuring that data is healthy, correctly attributed, and actionable. You will collaborate with engineering, design, UX, and go‑to‑market teams to deliver a coherent experience across SDK onboarding, automatic instrumentation, client‑side collectors, and coding‑agent workflows. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will own the product vision and roadmap for the OpenTelemetry experience, translating customer needs into clear, prioritized initiatives. You will define and refine onboarding flows for SDKs, automatic instrumentation tools such as Beyla, and client‑side collectors, ensuring that configuration, authentication, and connectivity are intuitive for both developers and coding agents. You will design validation signals that let users and agents confirm telemetry health and correctness, and you will craft troubleshooting guides that reduce time to resolution. You will partner with the Application Observability, Kubernetes Monitoring, Infrastructure Observability, and Drilldown Apps teams to align the end‑to‑end experience from data ingestion to first‑value activation. You will act as the single point of advocacy for OpenTelemetry within Grafana, communicating strategy and progress to leadership, engineering, and external customers. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring at least eight years of product management experience, with a proven track record delivering complex, cross‑functional products at scale. You have deep knowledge of observability, telemetry, and the OpenTelemetry ecosystem, and you are comfortable translating technical detail into customer‑centric value. You have led product strategy that spans multiple engineering teams and product lines, and you can navigate ambiguity while driving execution. Your communication skills are exceptional; you can articulate vision to executives, explain trade‑offs to engineers, and educate customers through documentation and webinars. You thrive in a fully remote, distributed environment, using asynchronous collaboration tools to maintain transparency and alignment.
