Staff Product Manager, OpenTelemetry | Germany | Remote

ABOUT THE ROLE Grafana Labs is building the world’s most trusted observability platform, and the Staff Product Manager for the OpenTelemetry Experience will shape how developers, agents, and teams bring telemetry into Grafana Cloud. In this role you will own the full customer journey from initial adoption of OpenTelemetry SDKs or automatic instrumentation to the moment data is healthy, correctly attributed, and actionable within our observability stack. You will collaborate with engineering, design, and go‑to‑market teams across multiple product lines to create a seamless, first‑class experience that reduces uncertainty, complexity, and failure points for every user and coding agent. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for OpenTelemetry onboarding, automatic instrumentation, and collector deployment. - Design and iterate end‑to‑end workflows that guide developers and coding agents through SDK configuration, injection, and client‑side collector setup. - Partner with Application Observability, Kubernetes Monitoring, Infrastructure Observability, and Drilldown Apps to align validation signals, health checks, and attribution across the stack. - Translate user research and data insights into actionable feature specifications, prioritization criteria, and success metrics. - Advocate for the OpenTelemetry experience within Grafana Labs, ensuring cross‑functional alignment and clear communication of priorities to engineering, design, and GTM stakeholders. - Drive continuous improvement by monitoring telemetry quality, troubleshooting issues, and refining guidance to keep data healthy and usable. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years leading high‑impact, cross‑functional initiatives in the observability or cloud infrastructure domain. - Deep understanding of OpenTelemetry concepts, SDKs, collectors, and automatic instrumentation technologies such as Beyla and OBI. - Proven track record of delivering complex, multi‑team product roadmaps that result in measurable adoption and user satisfaction. - Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with telemetry data, metrics, and validation signals to inform decisions. - Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, capable of translating technical detail into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non‑technical audiences. - Experience working in a fully remote, distributed organization and a demonstrated ability to maintain transparency, autonomy, and trust across time zones.
