Staff Product Manager, Billing

ABOUT THE ROLE Stripe’s Billing team is at the heart of our mission to increase the GDP of the internet by powering the recurring revenue engines of businesses worldwide. As a Staff Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and execution of a suite of billing products that serve millions of customers, from early‑stage startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. You will own the product vision, roadmap, and go‑to‑market strategy for features that enable customers to manage subscriptions, invoicing, revenue recognition, and payment collection at scale. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will conduct deep customer discovery with engineers, designers, data scientists, and sales to surface high‑impact problems and translate them into clear product requirements. You will own the product backlog, prioritizing initiatives that drive usage, retention, and revenue growth for Stripe Billing. You will collaborate with engineering and design to scope, build, and launch features, ensuring they meet rigorous quality and security standards. You will define success metrics, run experiments, and iterate based on data to continuously improve the product experience. You will communicate the product vision and progress to senior stakeholders, including executives and partner companies, through concise presentations and documentation. You will mentor junior product managers, fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity, and cross‑functional collaboration. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You have 10+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of launching and scaling complex software products. You possess strong technical acumen, able to engage in detailed discussions about API design, data modeling, and system architecture, and you can lead the development of robust integrations with the Stripe API. You demonstrate deep customer empathy across diverse personas, from founders to finance leaders, and you translate that empathy into delightful, high‑value product experiences. Your communication skills are exceptional; you can synthesize complex ideas into clear, concise narratives for both technical and non‑technical audiences. You thrive in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment and are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information. You have experience leading cross‑functional teams and driving a comprehensive product vision from concept through launch.
