Staff IT Technical Program Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE Coinbase is building the future of finance, and the Staff IT Technical Program Manager on the IT Operations team will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the company’s eDiscovery and information governance programs are both defensible and scalable. You will own the end‑to‑end strategy for eDiscovery across multiple business functions and enterprise platforms, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable system controls. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, program leadership, and a deep understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) to protect Coinbase’s data assets while enabling efficient legal and compliance workflows. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will develop and execute a comprehensive eDiscovery strategy that spans hold, collection, review, and production across platforms such as Slack, Google Workspace, and specialized eDiscovery tools. You will partner with engineering, legal, and product teams to prototype AI‑driven workflow solutions that automate routine tasks and reduce manual effort. You will create and maintain audit‑ready documentation, including regulatory control matrices, playbooks, and service level agreements, ensuring that all processes are compliant and defensible. You will lead cross‑functional program timelines, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks, escalating issues to senior leadership as needed. Finally, you will design and validate rigorous test plans for eDiscovery controls, measuring effectiveness and driving continuous improvement. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring at least five years of experience in technical program management, information governance, or regulatory compliance, with a proven track record of delivering complex, cross‑functional initiatives. You possess in‑depth knowledge of the EDRM and hands‑on experience with tools such as Relativity, Nuix, Google Vault, or Onna. You have a history of translating regulatory mandates into enterprise system configurations and policies across collaboration and productivity platforms. You are adept at building roadmaps, managing interdependencies, and driving programs independently with minimal supervision. You are comfortable leveraging generative AI responsibly, ensuring human oversight and measurable gains in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality. Strong communication skills enable you to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
