ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a highly skilled Staff AI Engineer to join our 2nd Horizon team at Grafana Labs. As a Staff AI Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering AI solutions that help users understand, respond to, and improve their systems. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Staff AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and shipping AI-powered features that can manage large datasets and expand the capabilities of analytics-focused AI agents. Your key responsibilities will include: - Building and delivering AI solutions that help users discover, organize, and optimize access to large datasets - Rapid experimentation and iteration, including prototyping, testing, and validating with real users - Collaborating with the rest of the team to shape AI-driven product features and integrating agentic components with internal tools - Utilizing AI tools effectively to enhance product functionality and development workflows - Effective communication and contribution across teams - Taking full ownership of AI solutions, ensuring they are innovative, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - Strong engineering skills, with solid experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems - AI experience with a practical mindset, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions that work in the real world - Quick iteration and experimentation skills, with a pragmatic mindset - Proven initiative, taking ownership and driving projects forward - A collaborative attitude, with effective communication skills and a willingness to contribute across teams WHY REMOTE As a remote company, we value flexibility and autonomy.
