Manager, Solutions Architecture
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
MongoDB is redefining the data platform for the AI era, and our Pre‑Sales Solutions Architecture team is at the forefront of that transformation. As Manager, Solutions Architecture you will lead a high‑performing, distributed team of architects, developers, and entrepreneurs who partner with sales to design and deliver MongoDB solutions that solve real business problems. You will shape the pre‑sales strategy for the UK enterprise market, ensuring that every engagement drives revenue and deepens customer trust. Your leadership will be instrumental in scaling MongoDB’s footprint across mid‑ to large‑enterprise accounts while maintaining the culture of innovation and customer focus that defines our brand.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will recruit, retain, and develop top pre‑sales talent across the UK, building a team that excels in technical depth and commercial acumen. You will partner closely with sales leaders to define and execute go‑to‑market initiatives, ensuring that solutions are aligned with customer needs and revenue goals. You will guide the team in crafting compelling technical presentations, proofs of concept, and architecture diagrams that demonstrate MongoDB’s value proposition. You will foster strong, lasting relationships with customers, identifying upsell opportunities and driving account growth. You will analyze market trends and customer feedback to continuously improve pre‑sales processes and best practices. You will represent MongoDB at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, positioning the company as a thought leader in modern data architecture.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You will have at least three years of management experience, ideally within pre‑sales or distributed teams, and a minimum of two years of hands‑on pre‑sales experience with strong commercial skills. A software development background and a deep understanding of database technologies will enable you to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes. You will be driven, focused, and able to manage time and resources efficiently while technically qualifying opportunities. Your intelligence and rapid learning ability will help you establish credibility with both internal stakeholders and external customers. You will possess excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, and you will be receptive to coaching and feedback. A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, and experience in the UK market and the database industry will be an advantage. You must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
