Sr. Tax Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our Finance Operations & Accounting team at Oscar. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's tax compliance and planning processes are accurate and efficient. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Associate Director, Tax, and other teams to support tax planning and projects. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Tax Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include: - Preparing U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns and estimates for the corporate holding company and insurance subsidiaries - Preparing state nexus analysis and sales and use taxes - Maintaining and adhering to tax compliance calendars - Preparing monthly tax journal entries and quarterly tax reconciliations - Preparing financial data, analysis, and modeling to support tax projects - Preparing audit and notice responses - Collaborating with Finance and business teams to support other tax compliance and planning projects - Identifying and implementing process improvements - Assisting with annual and quarterly GAAP and Statutory tax provisions and forecast modeling - Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 4+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a corporate tax department - A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 4 years of commensurate experience - Strong technical skills and knowledge of tax laws and regulations - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills WHY REMOTE This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in Atlanta, GA. You will be fully remote, with the potential for future hybrid models that involve working from a hub office associated with your metro area.
