ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Analyst Indirect Tax to join the Finance team at Elastic, the Search AI Company. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing indirect tax compliance across six complex and varied tax regimes in the Asia-Pacific region. This role requires a strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Sr Analyst Indirect Tax, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Extracting and preparing transaction data from NetSuite to create indirect tax returns for all six APAC jurisdictions.
- Driving timely, accurate submissions in coordination with our third-party tax vendor, acting as the senior internal point of contact for data, technical queries, and issue resolution across the APAC portfolio.
- Building and maintaining submission packages, including schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for sign-off, ensuring they meet local filing requirements and internal audit standards.
- Forecasting indirect tax cash requirements across the APAC portfolio in coordination with Treasury, ensuring funding is in place ahead of each jurisdiction's payment deadline.
- Executing monthly and quarterly reconciliations between indirect tax returns and the general ledger across all APAC entities, investigating and resolving discrepancies with finance and AP/AR teams.
- Posting indirect tax journal entries, including accruals, reversals, and adjustments, with complete documentation that holds up under SOX and external audit review.
- Maintaining audit-ready records across all APAC filings, ensuring every number is traceable back to source for any regulatory examiner.
- Initiating indirect tax payments on schedule across all jurisdictions, allocating them accurately, and tracking confirmations to close out each filing cycle.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify areas for improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and other relevant tax software.
- Experience with indirect tax compliance in a multinational organization.
