Senior Technical Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join our team at Webflow, a remote-first company that's building the world's leading AI-native Digital Experience Platform. As a Senior Technical Accountant, you'll play a critical role in owning complex accounting positions, including stock-based compensation, capitalized commissions, internally developed software, intangibles, and leases. You'll partner with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, People, and external auditors to deliver audit-ready financial statements and build scalable close and reporting processes. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Technical Accountant, you'll be responsible for: - Owning technical accounting areas such as internally developed software, stock-based compensation, equity modifications, intangibles, and leases, ensuring compliance with US GAAP. - Managing month-end close for technical accounting areas, including preparation of supporting calculations, booking journal entries, performing flux analyses, and reconciling accounts. - Preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, including preparation and tie-out of income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, statement of stockholders' equity, footnotes, supporting documentation, and the disclosure checklist. - Researching, interpreting, and documenting accounting positions for complex transactions and new accounting standards, and partnering with internal management and auditors for sign-off. - Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and cross-functional business partners, to perform comprehensive walkthroughs, ensure complete and accurate financials, and timely and compliant reporting. - Identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies and supporting their implementation. - Supporting the development and testing of internal controls. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - 5+ years of public accounting experience (big four preferred), with a thorough understanding of technical accounting and financial reporting. - Active CPA license and fluency in US GAAP. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting issues into clear, actionable recommendations. - Experience preparing financial statements and knowledge of both private and public company reporting standards. - Proven ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and operate independently in a fast-paced environment. - Familiarity with NetSuite and Workiva is a plus.
