Senior Tax Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join our Finance team at StockX, a leading technology company empowering global customers to connect to culture through their passions. As a key member of our Tax team, you'll partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Legal, Product, Operations, and external advisors to support StockX's expanding business. In this role, you'll play a critical part in managing indirect tax compliance, reconciliations, audit and notice responses, and tax-related process improvements across multiple jurisdictions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Senior Tax Analyst, you'll be responsible for:
- Assisting the Tax Manager with the preparation of supporting workpapers and submission of indirect tax filings for the United States, leveraging internal and external resources
- Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining sales and use tax account reconciliations and other tax-related month-end close support
- Assisting with the annual financial statement process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
- Managing and supporting indirect tax audits, notices, IDRs, and controversy matters, including gathering documentation, performing reconciliations and analysis, coordinating responses, and maintaining audit trackers
- Maintaining recordkeeping for state sales tax filings, tax notices, audit documentation, and jurisdictional portal activity
- Monitoring state and local tax legislation for changes relevant to StockX, researching the impact, and helping drive implementation of necessary changes
- Researching and analyzing domestic indirect tax implications of new business initiatives, and providing recommendations to mitigate tax exposure
- Partnering cross-functionally with business teams to support implementation of tax requirements for new products, processes, and operational changes
- Supporting tax engine, systems, and process testing, including UAT and issue tracking tied to tax-related changes
- Proactively monitoring the accuracy of tax charges and system-calculated tax results, identifying discrepancies through analysis and reconciliation, and partnering with cross-functional teams to investigate root causes and implement solutions
- Assisting with registrations, annual compliance requirements, special projects, and ad hoc requests from business partners and external advisors
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 3+ years of relevant tax experience in a corporate environment; public accounting experience is a plus
- Good understanding of multi-state sales and use tax regulations and indirect tax compliance processes
- Experience with tax account reconciliations, workpapers, and month-end or quarter-end close support
- Detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership, manages multiple priorities, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

BENEFITS
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually, plus opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), equity, and discretionary bonuses. Compensation is dependent on geography and may vary.
