Fivetran
Senior Revenue Accountant
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Fivetran’s mission is to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity, enabling organizations to become truly data‑driven. As a Senior Revenue Accountant you will be a key partner in that mission, ensuring that every dollar earned is recognized accurately and in compliance with ASC 606. You will work closely with the Revenue Manager, finance, sales, and product teams to maintain best‑in‑class revenue processes while supporting the integration of Fivetran and dbt Labs’ end‑to‑end order‑to‑cash workflows. Your work will directly influence the quality of our financial reporting, audit readiness, and the ability to scale revenue operations as the company grows.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Execute month‑end and year‑end close activities in NetSuite, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytics reporting.
- Review closed sales contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition entries and flag any non‑standard terms that require special consideration.
- Draft and maintain technical accounting memos that document judgmental revenue recognition decisions, ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
- Investigate and resolve revenue‑related system variances, preparing reconciliations that support accurate financial statements.
- Collaborate with the ERP team to design, integrate, and test NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue Management module, driving automation of revenue processes.
- Provide insights on revenue trends and controls to senior finance leadership, supporting strategic decision‑making.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of revenue accounting experience in a high‑growth SaaS environment, with deep knowledge of ASC 606.
- Proficiency in NetSuite (or comparable ERP) and experience with advanced revenue management modules.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to produce clear, audit‑ready documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex accounting judgments to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
