Senior Product Manager, Risk Platform

ABOUT THE ROLE We're transforming the grocery industry at Instacart, where we believe everyone should have access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. As a Senior Product Manager on our Platform team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the foundational capabilities behind our marketplace and Storefront Pro. You'll lead the development of Instacart's Risk Platform, a shared infrastructure behind fraud detection, appeasements, and identity verification across our four-sided marketplace. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Product Manager, you'll own the end-to-end product vision and roadmap for how Instacart prevents fraud, verifies identity, and resolves order disputes fairly. You'll navigate the tension between cost efficiency and delivering a fast, fair customer experience, shaping fraud and appeasement policies with cross-functional partners. Your key responsibilities will include: - Owning the fraud, identity, and appeasements product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap - Driving the evolution of Instacart's real-time fraud detection and identity platform, including ML model strategy, decisioning, identity verification, and account integrity - Championing an AI-native, AI-first approach to fraud and trust - Leading the appeasements and order-issue resolution strategy, defining policies, guardrails, and product capabilities that balance fair customer treatment with abuse prevention - Partnering closely with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Fraud Operations to define PRDs, scope ML model improvements, and translate complex fraud signals into scalable product capabilities WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you'll need: - 7+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on fraud, identity, and risk management - Proven track record of driving measurable impact on cost per order, fraud losses, and customer experience - Strong understanding of ML-driven fraud models and AI-native fraud defense - Experience working with cross-functional partners to shape policies and product capabilities - Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to socialize product vision with leadership and cross-functional partners WHY REMOTE At Instacart, we're a Flex First team, which means we prioritize flexibility and work-life balance.
