Instacart
Senior Product Manager, Carrot Ads
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Instacart is expanding its advertising ecosystem through Carrot Ads, a platform that enables retailers and partners to monetize their e‑commerce properties using Instacart’s technology and brand reach. The Senior Product Manager for Carrot Ads will own and drive the platform, balancing complex technical infrastructure, partner relationships, and strategic growth. This high‑visibility role shapes a product that is vital to Instacart’s Ads business and powers retail media network programs for prominent retailers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be the primary product contact for Carrot Ads’ largest API‑integrated partners, such as Uber Eats, Thrive Market, and Hy‑Vee. Your responsibilities include monitoring partner ad performance, consulting on product requests, handling escalations, participating in business reviews, and delivering partner‑specific improvements that influence retention and revenue.
You will own the publisher‑facing infrastructure that underpins all partner integrations, covering API architecture and documentation, SFPro integration, retailer controls for ad serving, quality, latency, reliability, data flows, reporting, billing, and revenue‑share systems. Ensuring these components function flawlessly is essential for partner trust and rapid onboarding.
You will spearhead strategic initiatives to broaden Carrot Ads into new areas such as in‑store and B2B, and identify opportunities in new partner segments and verticals.
You will lead cross‑functional collaboration across Engineering (Measurement, Ads Quality, Formats, Storefront), Strategy & Planning, Product Marketing, and Commercial Enablement, aligning priorities and resources.
As the program scales, you will take on greater strategic ownership, leading cross‑partner roadmap prioritization, representing Carrot Ads in leadership forums, and eventually serving as the senior PM lead for the entire Carrot Ads program.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Five or more years of product management experience, with a proven record of independently owning complex, cross‑functional product areas.
- Experience building or owning B2B platform products.
- Strong technical acumen and comfort working directly with engineering on API design, data pipelines, serving infrastructure, or related areas.
- Experience managing external partner or customer relationships within a product role, not limited to internal stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex technical and business concepts for engineering teams and non‑technical audiences alike.
WHY REMOTE
This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while staying connected with a global team through regular virtual collaboration and occasional in‑person events.
BENEFITS
Instacart offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health coverage, parental leave, education stipends, life insurance, equipment stipends, and flexible scheduling to support a healthy work‑life balance for remote employees.
