Senior Platform Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE The Infrastructure Engineering team at MongoDB is responsible for building and maintaining a self-service internal development platform that enables engineering teams to reliably deploy and operate their own production services and products. As a key member of this team, you will work with various engineering teams across the company to understand their infrastructure requirements and development workflows, develop broadly applicable self-service platform services and tooling, and continuously monitor how platform services are being utilized to improve developer productivity through automation and education. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Infrastructure Engineer at MongoDB, you will be responsible for: - Working with engineering teams across the company to investigate gaps and limitations in existing development workflows and understand new infrastructure and platform requirements - Designing self-service platform services and developer tooling that focuses on reliability, usability, and provides the appropriate level of abstraction from cloud infrastructure - Regularly writing and reviewing automation, configuration management, and application code - Authoring and reviewing functional specifications and scoping documents for large platform projects and services - Owning and operating much of the internal development platform that runs MongoDB - Collaborating with a distributed team that frequently interacts with remote engineers across multiple time zones WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in cloud providers, with a strong preference for AWS - A strong backend programming background, with fluency in Go strongly preferred and deep experience with another compiled or strongly-typed backend language acceptable - Experience working with AI coding agents and designing and implementing medium-to-large software projects - Practical experience defining and operating against SLI/SLOs for services you owned - Strong experience with observability tooling, Linux, and TCP/IP networking skills - Familiarity with standard authentication protocols, web services, and/or Kubernetes controller development - Strong experience using CI/CD workflows to deploy production services WHY REMOTE We are looking for candidates based in Gurugram for our hybrid working model, which allows for flexibility and collaboration with a distributed team.
