Anthropic
IT Systems Engineer, Mobile Client Platform Engineer
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that benefit users and society. The Client Platform Engineering team is responsible for the laptops, handsets, and underlying infrastructure that every Anthropic employee uses. As an IT Systems Engineer focused on the mobile client platform, you will transform the current BYOD model into a fully managed corporate mobile program that spans all regions where Anthropic operates. You will design, implement, and operate the end‑to‑end lifecycle of corporate‑issued devices, ensuring seamless integration with the team’s config‑as‑code pipeline and maintaining strict security and compliance standards.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will design the corporate‑issued mobile device program, defining device standards, allocation criteria, and phased expansion across regions. You will own global logistics, partnering with procurement vendors to secure hardware, manage spares, and schedule refresh cycles. You will build zero‑touch enrollment for iOS and Android, enabling devices to be provisioned automatically via Apple Business Manager, ADE, and Android Enterprise. You will develop telemetry dashboards that track device check‑ins, OS patch status, and configuration drift, and you will implement managed app distribution workflows from approval to rollout. You will collaborate with Corporate Security to enforce device posture, trust signals, and travel‑device protocols, and you will establish clear boundaries between corporate‑issued and BYOD devices as the program scales.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You have eight or more years of experience managing global mobile device fleets at a multi‑thousand device scale. You possess deep expertise in iOS device management, including enrollment flows, Apple Business Manager, APNs, and declarative device policies, and you are comfortable with Android device management as well. You treat configuration as code, having moved beyond console clicks to version‑controlled, CI‑driven deployments. You have run self‑hosted MDM infrastructure on AWS or GCP, using Terraform and Python for automation. You have launched a corporate device program from inception to production, making strategic decisions about BYOD coexistence. You excel at solving ambiguous problems that cross multiple teams, communicate technical concepts clearly to all stakeholders, and document processes comprehensively. Proficiency in Swift, experience with ChromeOS fleets, and familiarity with LLM‑driven automation are strong pluses.
WHY REMOTE
Anthropic embraces a distributed, asynchronous culture that empowers employees to work from anywhere while maintaining high collaboration standards. Remote teams benefit from flexible schedules that align with personal productivity rhythms, while still participating in regular syncs, code reviews, and design sessions. The company provides robust communication tools, secure VPN access, and a global network of partner offices for occasional in‑person collaboration, ensuring that remote work does not compromise security or teamwork. This approach allows you to contribute fully to the mobile platform program from any location, while staying connected to the broader Anthropic mission.
BENEFITS
Competitive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents. Generous paid time off, including a company‑wide holiday policy and mental‑health days. A remote stipend to cover home‑office equipment and broadband. A learning budget for certifications, conferences, and courses. Comprehensive retirement savings plan with company match. Access to employee assistance programs and wellness resources. Annual salary range for this role is $285,000 to $325,000 USD, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required.
