Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE Culture Amp is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst (Systems, Automation & Projects) to join our payroll team in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that sits at the intersection of payroll operations, systems, and transformation. You will play a key role in supporting our payroll operations today while helping shape how they scale for the future. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will serve as a key project resource for the migration of our UK payroll to our global outsourced partner by early 2027. Following this transition, you will own and optimize the digital integration, API and file-based data flows, and workflows between our internal HRIS and external payroll providers supporting the UK, US, and Germany. You will also run the compliant, end-to-end preparation, processing, journals and reconciliation of payroll for our Australian and New Zealand entities, while managing UK payroll operations in the interim period leading up to the transition. You will partner closely with the Compliance & Operations Lead in People Ops to ensure seamless upstream-to-downstream data flows across payroll systems and processes. Additionally, you will leverage Generative AI and automated audit frameworks to streamline data validation, reconciliation, and routine employee inquiry resolution. You will conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely issue resolution. You will also identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve scalability. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will have hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll operations with a high degree of accuracy and compliance. You will have experience supporting payroll transformation, transition, or systems change projects. You will have strong payroll systems capability, including confidence working across integrations, workflow design, and data transfers. You will also have digital and automation literacy, with the ability to identify smarter and more scalable ways of working. You will have intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills, including power query, working with large datasets, reconciliations, and reporting. You will have strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage time-sensitive work across multiple priorities. You will also have the ability to collaborate effectively across Payroll, Finance, People teams, and external vendors. WHY REMOTE While this role is based in Melbourne or Sydney, we offer a flexible work arrangement that allows you to work from our local office an average of 2 days a week, unlocking connection, pace, and culture with your colleagues. BENEFITS At Culture Amp, our people are at the heart of our success. We offer a total rewards package designed to support you at work and in life, including: - Equity through our Employee Share Option Program, so you can share in our long-term success - Learning programs and coaching to help you thrive and grow - Quarterly refresh days, an extended end-of-year break, and a monthly allowance to support your wellbeing and lifestyle - Inclusive parental leave policies and a range of other benefits to support your work-life balance
