Senior Manager, Compliance Product Data

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Product Data Lead to join Coinbase, a remote-first company that's uncompromising on its mission to increase economic freedom. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in building and leading the data function for the Compliance Product, Strategic Programs, and Data organization from the ground up. You'll sit at the intersection of Engineering, Product, and Compliance, serving as the technical visionary and product architect for our compliance data ecosystem. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Compliance Product Data Lead, you'll be responsible for building and leading the Compliance data product suite, driving strategic product direction across Customer Risk Scoring, Transaction Monitoring, AML, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption systems and programs. You'll lead the design and implementation of the end-to-end Compliance data risk framework, addressing Data Quality, Usage Risk, and Lineage Risk across all compliance data products. Additionally, you'll execute formal data contracts between Producers (Engineering) and Consumers (2LOD Compliance, 1LOD Operations), define control requirements and change management protocols, and partner with senior Engineering stakeholders to maintain comprehensive data lineage. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll need: - 10+ years of experience in Data Product Management, Data Engineering, or Technical Program Management within regulated Financial Services or FinTech, with deep domain knowledge of AML, KYC, Sanctions, and/or Transaction Monitoring. - Demonstrated ability to lead technical deep-dives on ETL pipelines, SQL, and data modeling with Engineering partners while translating those needs for non-technical compliance stakeholders. - Proven experience mapping complex data flows across distributed systems to meet regulatory standards (e.g., BCBS 239 or similar) and designing compensating controls for residual risk. - Fluency with cloud-native data environments (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) and their metadata, lineage, and governance capabilities at scale. - Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
