Senior iOS Engineer, Global Markets

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior iOS Engineer on the Global Markets engineering team at Airbnb, you will play a critical role in evolving the guest and host experience for global markets through new product initiatives to accelerate international growth. With a focus on expanding in under-penetrated global markets, you will tackle the unique technical challenges of building for global markets, including locale-aware UI, market-specific features and integrations, and performance optimization across diverse conditions. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including PMs, designers, data scientists, and engineers, to ship features that make millions of users across under-penetrated markets feel right at home. As a senior team member, you will also play a key role in raising the engineering bar through code reviews, tech design reviews, and mentoring. Your responsibilities will include: - Partnering with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions and help shape the roadmap - Writing and reviewing technical designs for large, open-ended problems - Writing clean, testable, and maintainable Swift code to ship polished, pixel-perfect user experiences - Mentoring and supporting the career growth of other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical guidance - Driving end-to-end delivery as the tech lead of a project, communicating progress to stakeholders, and owning the overall quality across the full release cycle WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - 5+ years of iOS development experience; proficient in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Core Animation / Core Graphics - Proficient in applying AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate development workflows - Strong product sense with a proven ability to build pixel-perfect interfaces and fluid animations - Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and navigating ambiguous challenges - Strong cross-team collaboration skills with excellent English communication; experience working in globally distributed teams or building products for diverse markets is a plus WHY REMOTE As a remote team based in different cities in China, you will meet up in person regularly to collaborate, connect, and celebrate. This position is China - Remote Eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
