ABOUT THE ROLE At Coinbase, the Senior Internal Communications Manager drives the narrative that connects our global, remote workforce to the company’s mission of expanding economic freedom. Working closely with senior leaders, you will shape and deliver the internal communications strategy that informs, inspires, and aligns employees across all functions. Your role is pivotal in translating complex strategy into clear, compelling stories that reinforce our culture and accelerate change in an AI‑native environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Define and own the internal communications strategy for a portfolio of stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor on messaging, timing, and approach. - Ensure employees have the information and context they need to excel in their roles, delivering concise, actionable content across multiple channels. - Design and refine systems, including AI‑powered tools and workflows, that scale communications to a globally distributed workforce. - Measure program effectiveness, leveraging data to iterate and improve impact continuously. - Develop a deep understanding of Coinbase’s mission, strategy, and culture to embed these themes in all communications. - Identify and implement AI‑native approaches to content creation, personalization, and feedback loops, raising the bar for internal communications at scale. - Support and execute organization‑wide live events, drafting talking points, advising on flow, and preparing speakers. - Partner with internal and external communications teams to coordinate proactive and reactive messaging and manage internal issue responses. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Ten or more years of experience in internal, external, or corporate communications, media, journalism, or a similarly writing‑intensive role. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity, brevity, and executive‑level storytelling. - Proven executive presence and a track record of partnering with senior leaders to influence strategy and drive initiatives. - Demonstrated expertise in using AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, audience analysis, and content testing while maintaining human oversight and quality. - Resilience and grit to navigate rapid organizational change, shifting priorities, and a high‑velocity environment. - Experience communicating to a highly distributed, remote workforce, with a knack for building engagement across time zones. - Strong organizational skills, energy for roadmapping, planning, and envisioning long‑term impact. - A hands‑on mindset that balances speed and quality, prioritizing what matters most in any moment. - Passion for crypto and a willingness to develop deep fluency in the space.
