Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE Coinbase is on a mission to increase economic freedom, and the people behind that mission are at the heart of everything we do. As Senior Internal Communications Manager for People, you will partner directly with the Chief People Officer and the People Success team to translate strategy into clear, compelling, and timely messages that resonate across a global workforce. You will shape how the organization’s vision, policies, and cultural initiatives are understood and embraced by every employee, ensuring that people feel informed, connected, and empowered to contribute to Coinbase’s success. You will be the trusted advisor for high‑stakes moments—organizational changes, policy shifts, leadership transitions, and other critical announcements—crafting messaging that builds trust and drives engagement. Your work will span town‑hall scripts, executive communications, FAQs, and internal newsletters, all delivered with a product‑marketing orientation that highlights the value of people initiatives for the business and the individual. You will also design and maintain scalable communications infrastructure, including editorial calendars, playbooks, and measurement frameworks, and collaborate with the broader Internal Communications team to align People messaging with the company narrative. By leveraging data, employee insights, and AI‑enabled workflows, you will continuously refine impact and scale your efforts to meet the needs of a rapidly growing organization. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will own the communications strategy for People programs and company‑wide rollouts, ensuring alignment with business goals and a consistent voice. You will advise the CPO and senior People leaders on messaging for high‑stakes moments, translating complex changes into clear, human‑centered narratives that build trust. You will lead the creation of internal content, including town‑hall scripts, executive communications, and FAQs, to articulate the value of People initiatives to leaders and employees. You will develop and maintain editorial calendars, playbooks, and measurement frameworks that support a scalable, data‑driven communications process. You will coordinate with cross‑functional partners to time People messages with broader company initiatives and maintain a cohesive narrative. You will use generative AI responsibly, integrating it into workflows to improve efficiency while preserving editorial quality and human oversight. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring more than a decade of experience in internal or strategic communications, change management, or product marketing, with a proven track record of advising C‑suite or VP‑level leaders on complex, high‑stakes messaging. You have a portfolio of executive‑level content that drove measurable engagement or adoption, and you excel at writing, editing, and narrative development. Your executive presence and interpersonal effectiveness enable you to influence decisions, push back when necessary, and build trust quickly with senior leaders. You are adept at managing a broad portfolio of concurrent initiatives across multiple stakeholders while maintaining a coordinated, clear communications strategy. You have built scalable communications processes, systems, and measurement frameworks from scratch, and you are comfortable using data and employee insights to refine impact. You are familiar with generative AI tools and can responsibly integrate them into your workflow to deliver business‑ready outputs and measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality. WHY REMOTE Coinbase’s remote‑first culture empowers employees to work where they thrive, supported by a distributed asynchronous framework that encourages flexibility and work‑life balance. Teams collaborate across time zones through clear communication protocols, shared digital workspaces, and regular virtual check‑ins, ensuring that everyone stays connected and aligned. Quarterly in‑person “surge” sessions bring the team together for deep work, brainstorming, and relationship building, while the rest of the year is spent in the comfort of your own environment. This model allows you to focus on high‑impact work without the constraints of a fixed schedule, giving you the freedom to structure your day around your most productive hours. BENEFITS Competitive base salary with equity and bonus potential Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage Generous paid time off and flexible holiday policy Remote work stipend and equipment allowance Learning and development budget, including conference and course reimbursements 401(k) plan with company match Employee assistance program and wellness resources Access to a global community of peers and mentors through internal networking platforms
