Senior Counsel

ABOUT THE ROLE LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide critical legal support to our growing global SaaS business. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this role will partner with cross-functional teams to execute on legal workstreams, balancing legal risk with business needs. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal input to product, engineering, and go-to-market teams on data privacy, intellectual property, and compliance considerations. This will involve translating legal guidance into clear recommendations for stakeholders, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents, and contributing to the development and maintenance of legal templates, playbooks, and processes. You will also partner with cross-functional teams to support compliance initiatives and implementation of company policies, manage outside counsel, and assist with international operations. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need a Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction. You should have at least 8 years of legal experience, including some in-house or equivalent client-facing experience, and a foundational knowledge of data privacy, intellectual property, and technology transactions. Experience providing legal advice to SaaS companies and managing a defined set of responsibilities are also essential. WHY REMOTE This role is based in the United States and requires occasional travel to the Oakland headquarters. BENEFITS LaunchDarkly offers a competitive salary, with target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones. Zone 1 includes San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle, with a salary range of $152,900 - $210,210. Zone 2 includes Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago, with a salary range of $137,600 - $189,200. Zone 3 includes all other US locations, with a salary range of $129,900 - $178,640.
