ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial & Privacy Counsel to join our team at Coursera. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's commercial and privacy strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and driving business growth. WHAT YOU'LL DO As Senior Commercial & Privacy Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on commercial and privacy matters, including contract negotiations, data protection, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with our business teams to develop and implement strategies that drive revenue growth, while ensuring that our commercial activities are aligned with our values and regulatory requirements. You will also collaborate with our product and engineering teams to ensure that our products and services meet the necessary regulatory standards. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in commercial and privacy law, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role. You should have a deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You will also need to have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
