ABOUT THE ROLE
Datadog is seeking a motivated and experienced Security Sales Engineer to drive our security sales efforts by providing technical expertise and delivering compelling solutions to our customers. This role is critical in identifying customer needs, crafting go-to-market strategy, demonstrating the value of Datadog's security solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Security Sales Engineer, you will support the Enterprise Security Sales team in driving adoption of Datadog's security offering within target strategic accounts. You will collaborate with the broader sales team to identify and understand security requirements across Datadog's Enterprise customer base. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting detailed product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of Datadog's security solutions
- Providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle, including during customer evaluations and proof-of-value initiatives
- Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of Datadog's security products, industry trends, and current vulnerabilities, staying updated with the latest features and enhancements
- Assisting in the creation of technical proposals, documentation, and other sales materials
- Working closely with the product management and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and influence product development
- Participating in industry events, conferences, and webinars to promote Datadog's security solutions
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. You will have deep experience with SIEM platforms and detection pipelines, SOC workflows, endpoint security, and the deployment and tuning of security controls in live customer environments. Key qualifications include:
- Expert knowledge of the developer and DevOps ecosystems and application security best practices
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related security tools and technologies
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
- Willingness to travel up to 30% to meet with customers and attend industry events
