Anthropic
Safeguards Enforcement Analyst, Radiological & Nuclear Harms
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Anthropic is a rapidly growing company dedicated to creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. Our mission is to ensure that AI is safe and beneficial for users and society as a whole. As a member of our team, you will be part of a diverse group of researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Enforcement Analyst focused on Radiological & Nuclear Harms, you will play a critical role in protecting against the misuse of AI systems for radiological and nuclear harms. Your responsibilities will include enforcing our Usage Policy with a specific focus on detecting and mitigating potential radiological and nuclear risks, investigating potential violations, and contributing to the continuous strengthening of our safeguards. You will work at the intersection of radiological and nuclear threat analysis and platform enforcement, analyzing real model interactions to determine whether activity is benign research or a credible attempt at harm.
You will own and continuously improve the enforcement monitoring workflows for this harm area, working closely with Policy, Threat Intelligence, Data Science, and Engineering cross-functional partners. This role requires the ability to understand the dual-use nature of radiological and nuclear knowledge and enabling technologies, separating the benign from the malicious, and acting decisively under ambiguity. Your work will directly protect individuals, communities, and critical systems from AI-facilitated weapons harm.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in a physics- or nuclear-related field, such as physics, nuclear engineering, health physics, or radiochemistry, and/or relevant professional experience in a related field. You will also need experience in Trust & Safety, content moderation, or policy enforcement at platform scale, including working with generative AI tools to refine and optimize content review and enforcement workflows.
Preferred qualifications include subject matter expertise in radiological and nuclear defense, security, WMD/CBRNE non-proliferation, or threat-intelligence, as well as proficiency in SQL and/or other data analysis tools to draw insights from large datasets and monitor enforcement workflow health.
WHY REMOTE
Anthropic is a remote-first company, and this role will be performed entirely remotely. As a remote team member, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and will be part of a distributed team that values collaboration, communication, and mutual support.
BENEFITS
Anthropic offers a highly competitive annual salary of $245,000 to $285,000 USD, as well as other benefits and perks.
