ABOUT THE ROLE
Canada Post invites you to join our Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier team in Allan, Saskatchewan, as part of a national leader in postal services. In this role you will be the trusted face of Canada Post, ensuring that every letter, parcel, and important communication reaches residents safely and on time. WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will sort, collect, and deliver mail items along a 77‑kilometre route that includes 167 points of call, maintaining the highest standards of safety and timeliness. You will operate your own vehicle under all weather and traffic conditions, ensuring that Canada Post’s identification is visible at all times. You will process a variety of CPC products such as Change of Address notifications, Damaged Mail, and Items Delivered Bill, and you will provide qualified replacements or helpers when needed to cover absences or extra hours. You will maintain detailed knowledge of local infrastructure, roads, and customer delivery receptacles, and you will secure and protect mail in your possession at all times. Your role will also involve lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds and ensuring compliance with vehicle and safety regulations.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
A satisfactory safe driving record and a valid permanent provincial driver’s licence (Class 5 or G) are required. You must own a vehicle that meets Canada Post’s mandatory specifications, including a minimum cargo capacity of 50 cubic feet, an automatic transmission, power windows, a metal roof‑top, and a suitable interior width. You should have experience delivering mail and operating a motor vehicle in diverse weather and traffic conditions, and you must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Strong organisational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a customer‑focused mindset are essential. You must be able to work independently, manage time efficiently, and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues. A willingness to provide and maintain automobile liability insurance and to notify your insurer of vehicle use while employed at Canada Post is also required.
