ABOUT THE ROLE Anthropic is a rapidly growing organization dedicated to creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We're seeking a highly skilled Research Operations Specialist to play a critical role in our risk report operations. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Research Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for driving risk report production from start to finish. This includes owning the timeline, coordinating contributions from dozens of researchers, and ensuring that the document is completed on time and meets our high standards for clarity and consistency. You will also perform substantive editorial work, translating complex technical information into clear prose and identifying areas where safety arguments may not hold together. Additionally, you will work to keep our external safety artifacts consistent with each other, including system cards and Responsible Scaling Policy updates. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstrated technical writing ability, with a proven track record of taking dense, jargon-heavy source material and producing precise and readable prose. You should have working conceptual knowledge of large language models, including terms like pretraining, RLHF, context windows, evals, red-teaming, and capability thresholds. You will also need to be able to read evaluation results tables, ask clarifying questions, and identify gaps in a technical argument. BENEFITS The annual compensation range for this role is $260,000 - $310,000 USD.
