ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Counsel II to join our dynamic LATAM Regulatory team at Adyen. As a Regulatory Counsel II, you will play a critical role in providing strategic regulatory advice associated with payments laws and regulations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business and regulatory initiatives, and representing regulatory on various workstreams and products. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Regulatory Counsel II, your primary responsibilities will include: - Providing strategic regulatory advice associated with payments laws and regulations, including payment institution licensing, e-money, digital wallets, payment schemes, acquiring services, open finance, etc. - Collaborating with the products team to understand commercial and technical needs for envisioned product propositions, and working on cross-functional projects and teams to develop, enhance, and implement business and regulatory initiatives. - Leading regulatory engagements, including managing relationships with regulators and auditors, and managing inspections and reports to the regulator. - Anticipating and identifying key emerging regulatory obligations and integrity risks, and ensuring these are addressed in a practical and scalable way. - Translating identified obligations into relevant policies and procedures to be communicated and implemented across the global business. - Representing regulatory on various workstreams and products to establish regulatory strategies that align with global objectives and ensure controlled and compliant growth. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 5+ years of experience in a regulatory and legal function focused on payments, financial services, and/or fintech industry, either as in-house or in a top-tier law firm. - Knowledge of the Mexican payments, financial services, and/or fintech industry. - Strong sense of initiative, independence, and ability to take ownership, enabling you to contribute to a fast-growing business. - Analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to find creative solutions for complex regulatory challenges. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in managing relationships with internal stakeholders and/or regulators or supervisors. - Must be a licensed attorney, preferably certified by the CNBV in AML/CFT. - Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
