ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Product Lawyer at Stripe, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's products and services, navigating complex regulatory and technical issues, and driving business growth.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Product Lawyer, you will serve as key advisor to Stripe's product, engineering, and partnerships teams, working on a diverse set of matters that span financial services, business processes, and technology. Your responsibilities will include:
- Serving as product counsel for the Stripe Terminal team, helping to expand our product offerings
- Counseling the Stripe product team on regulatory, consumer protection, marketing, intellectual property, and data privacy issues
- Collaborating with various Stripe teams, including engineering, compliance, business development, and marketing, on product development and commercialization
- Working closely with colleagues across the Stripe legal team to clear key issues impacting product development and commercialization
- Building scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products
- Drafting, reviewing, and updating foundational documents for product and service offerings
- Staying up-to-date on U.S. and international laws and regulations dealing with privacy, data security, consumer protection, financial services, and marketing
- Participating as a proactive business partner to senior managers and building a trusted advisor relationship
- Developing deep subject matter expertise of the Stripe Terminal products and serving as a legal team member point of contact for escalations and questions related to Stripe Terminal
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- 6+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer working on complex regulatory or technology matters, preferably with technology companies on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development
- A passion for technology and ability to understand complex business models and product use cases quickly
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and project management skills with a strict attention to detail
- Excellent project management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Excellent judgment and the ability to make smart decisions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information

BENEFITS
The annual salary range for this role in Canada is CA$160,000 – CA$240,000.
