ABOUT THE ROLE
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, powering millions of companies to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. We're on a mission to increase the GDP of the internet, and we're looking for talented individuals to join our team. As a Product Lawyer on our Product Legal team, you'll play a critical role in managing the legal and regulatory elements of our products and services, working on complex technical, commercial, and regulatory problems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Product Lawyer at Stripe, you'll be a key advisor to our product, engineering, and partnerships teams. Your responsibilities will include:
Counseling the global product team on issues related to artificial intelligence, data protection, and consumer protection. You'll collaborate with teams across Stripe to deliver pragmatic and actionable legal advice on product development lifecycle issues.
Drafting, reviewing, and updating internal and external-facing foundational terms and documents for our products and service offerings.
Staying up-to-date on laws and regulations dealing with consumer financial data access, analyzing industry trends to proactively advise clients of potential product impacts.
Participating as a proactive business partner to your product team, building a trusted advisor relationship offering key legal and strategic business input in evolving Stripe and its product roadmap and strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm or in-house legal team working with technology companies, ideally with expertise in cloud-based API service providers.
Proficiency in working with technology and ability to understand complex operational and business models as well as multiple product use cases quickly.
A self-starter mentality, with excellent judgment and decision-making skills, and the ability to work well under tight deadlines.
Strong communication and relational skills, with experience working cross-functionally and collaboratively.
A background in technology law and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
