Product Counsel

ABOUT THE ROLE Cloudflare is seeking a Product Counsel to join its team, supporting the company's mission to help build a better Internet. As a member of the Product Counsel team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's approach to innovative technology, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Product Counsel, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating technology transactions, such as AI inference offerings, and evaluating novel legal questions to craft practical solutions at the frontier of law and technology. Your tasks will include translating complex legal analysis into clear, actionable guidance for fast-moving product and engineering teams, reviewing and architecting legal frameworks for technology transactions, and drafting terms of service, disclosures, policies, and related processes. You will also apply privacy-by-design principles, partner with the commercial legal team, and engage externally on behalf of Cloudflare in areas where you are a subject matter expert. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need a JD degree with strong academic credentials and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. A minimum of 3+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience, preferably with technology companies, is required. A technical background or expertise is highly desired, and experience with copyright law and Internet law is also preferred. Strong communication skills, a cooperative team player attitude, and the ability to work cross-functionally are essential. Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location, with estimated annual salaries ranging from $150,000 to $207,000 for Washington D.C. based hires.
