Principal Technical Consultant, Okta

ABOUT THE ROLE Okta is seeking an experienced technical consultant to provide hands-on implementation and deployment services to our customers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading multiple concurrent customer deployment projects, ensuring long-term customer success, and engaging with the full Customer Success team. This role requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes and a commitment to providing excellent design and deployment solutions. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you will work closely with Okta customers to provide innovative consulting services, gather and analyze post-sales requirements, and communicate with customers and partners at the technical and functional level. You will be responsible for managing project scope, schedule, status, and documentation, mentoring and training customers on the service, and acting as a liaison between customers and product management. Additionally, you will perform hands-on technical design, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Okta service, shape and influence Okta's growth and scalability, and manage multiple concurrent deployment projects. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need 5-7 years of experience as a technical consultant delivering solutions to external customers. You should have experience with technologies and protocols to support identity federation and robust access control models, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, and WS-Federation. You should also have software development experience in languages such as Java, Ruby, .Net, PHP, and REST/JSON. Additionally, you should have some knowledge of enterprise web technologies, security, and cutting-edge infrastructures, as well as experience with JavaScript and one of the major JavaScript MVC frameworks.
