ABOUT THE ROLE Platypus Shoes has been a leader in footwear retail across Australia and New Zealand since 1998, and the Grand Plaza store is one of our flagship locations. As Store Manager you will be the face of the brand in a high‑profile retail environment, responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience while driving sales and operational excellence. You will work closely with the Assistant Store Manager and the Area Manager to translate corporate strategy into daily store performance, ensuring that every visitor leaves with a memorable experience and a new pair of shoes. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will set and achieve sales targets, monitor key performance indicators, and celebrate successes while identifying areas for improvement. You will lead, coach and motivate a team of casual staff, fostering a culture of high morale, continuous learning and succession planning. You will manage rosters, wage costs and inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability and visual merchandising standards. You will oversee store presentation, operational procedures and compliance with OH&S regulations. You will collaborate with the Area Manager to identify growth opportunities and implement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and profitability. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You will bring proven experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in a high‑volume retail setting, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales and KPI targets. You will possess strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to inspire a diverse team. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be adept at coaching and developing staff. You will be experienced in stock management, visual merchandising and operational oversight. You will be passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience and thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
