As an in‑house Pilot you will be the trusted operator of our corporate aircraft fleet, ensuring that executives, partners, and key personnel travel safely and efficiently across the globe. Your expertise will support critical launch operations, technical visits, and rapid response missions, enabling SpaceX to maintain its leadership in aerospace innovation. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will conduct thorough pre‑flight inspections, monitor ground servicing items such as fuel, oil, and oxygen, and ensure all operations comply with our Standard Operating Procedures. Each flight will begin with detailed planning, performance calculations, and weight‑and‑balance assessments, followed by passenger briefings that adhere to company policy and regulatory requirements. You will apply the Threats, Plans, and Considerations briefing methodology to identify and mitigate operational risks. You will maintain a current first‑class medical certificate and be available on an on‑call basis to support both domestic and international missions. Your role will also involve coordinating with ground crews, flight operations, and security to guarantee seamless execution of every assignment. WHAT YOU'LL NEED A high‑school diploma or equivalent, 3,000+ total flight hours, and a first‑class medical certificate are mandatory. You should hold a Boeing 737 type rating and a G650 type rating, with at least 500 hours in each type. Experience flying from local airports and a proven track record of safe, efficient operations are essential. You must be within a 2‑4 hour travel distance to LAX, possess a current passport, and be able to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee status, or asylum status is required to meet ITAR regulations. Strong communication skills, a proactive problem‑solving mindset, and the ability to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑moving environment are critical.
