Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Amentum is seeking a dedicated Message Center Operator to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining strict accountability for classified materials, records, and equipment in the Communications Message Center. This role requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Message Center Operator, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing incoming and outgoing Naval and civilian message traffic for the AUTEC project. Your duties will include:
- Maintaining strict accountability for classified materials, records, and equipment in the Communications Message Center
- Loading classified material utilizing electronic devices and adhering to stringent COMSEC procedures
- Monitoring communications circuits during real-time test operations and initiating action to rectify circuit outages
- Reporting equipment malfunctions to technical and management personnel
- Maintaining and establishing radio and telephone communications as required
- Maintaining a detailed daily official record of tasks, duties, and events accomplished or observed in the Communications Message Center
- Performing other duties as assigned or directed
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school graduate or equivalent
- 3-5 years of related experience working in a communications computer media environment
- Military Message Center/EKMS experience is desired and preferred
- Ability to pass Message Center Communications Qualifications requirements within 60 days of hire
- Adaptability to a rotating shift schedule (12-hour increments)
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to follow a structured chain of command
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10 or later and MS Outlook
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 40 pounds of office supplies
- Ability to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities
- Valid US Passport and Driver's License
