ABOUT THE ROLE German Ship Repair Jamaica is hiring a Marine Painter & Blaster to support the maintenance and protection of vessels and shipyard structures at its floating dock facility in Harbour View, Kingston. The position focuses on surface preparation, abrasive blasting, and the application of marine coatings. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will prepare steel surfaces using abrasive blasting, power tools, and other approved methods. You will apply marine coatings and paint systems in line with technical specifications and manufacturers' recommendations. Your work will include inspecting prepared surfaces and finished coatings to ensure quality standards are met. You will also maintain blasting and painting equipment and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Previous experience in abrasive blasting and industrial or marine painting is required. You should have knowledge of surface preparation methods, coating systems, and safe handling of painting materials. The ability to work safely in confined spaces and industrial environments is essential. Experience in a shipyard setting is an advantage.
