Manager I, Engineering - Onboarding Growth

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Manager I, Engineering - Onboarding Growth to lead the Onboarding team within the Shared Capabilities organization at Datadog. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will set product direction, coach and develop team members, and drive projects that drive new users to adopt Datadog in their organizations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring a world-class setup and onboarding experience for new users, making it easy for them to realize the full value of Datadog in their organization. WHAT YOU'LL DO As Manager I, Engineering - Onboarding Growth, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional projects that drive new user adoption and onboarding growth. Your key responsibilities will include: - Working with Product Management and Design to plan and staff projects for the Onboarding Growth team - Coaching and developing engineers at various levels - Ensuring strong cross-team communication and design best practices around project management, code review, architecture patterns, and more - Building UX features to streamline the onboarding and trial experience through rapid experimentation - Building out data platforms and using that data to personalize the onboarding experience for each user - Working directly with product teams to ensure each product has a best-in-class new user experience - Creating AI-assisted setup options to make sure initial setup "just works" out of the box - Championing the use of analytics data to analyze user behavior and apply those insights to product UX WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - At least 2 years of people management experience in a software engineering or similar setting - Experience managing full-stack development teams - Excellent communication skills, including delivering clear, actionable, and empathetic feedback - Product-oriented: you put solving customer problems first and know how to ship features quickly and iterate on them - Passionate about experimentation and using data to drive decisions - Demonstrated sense of ownership over your team's work WHY REMOTE Datadog is a hybrid workplace that prioritizes work-life harmony.
