IT Systems Engineer, Client Platform Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Anthropic is a rapidly growing organization dedicated to creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We're seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our Client Platform Engineering team, which treats Anthropic's device fleet as a distributed platform. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an IT Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for owning the endpoint platform end-to-end, including infrastructure, configuration, patching, and telemetry. You'll build zero-touch provisioning, manage rapid patching enforcement, and create automation and workflows to eliminate operational toil. You'll also partner with Corporate Security on endpoint hardening, binary authorization, and compliance controls. Additionally, you'll serve as the deep escalation tier for endpoint issues that IT Operations can't resolve. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll need 8+ years of experience building secure IT systems in complex environments. You'll have managed endpoint fleets of thousands of devices through a modern MDM and treated endpoint configuration as code. You'll be proficient in Python, shell scripting, and PowerShell, as well as macOS or Windows internals, querying live device state at fleet scale, and modern MDM platforms. You'll also have experience with GitOps, CI/CD for configuration management, and infrastructure as code.
