ABOUT THE ROLE Grafana Labs is a global leader in open observability, powering the telemetry needs of more than 35 million users and 7,000 enterprise customers. As an Incentive Compensation Systems Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our sales team is rewarded accurately and efficiently. You will own the end‑to‑end commission workflow, from data ingestion in Salesforce and Workday to calculation in Xactly and reporting in BigQuery. Your work will directly influence the speed, accuracy, and fairness of our incentive programs, enabling the company to scale while maintaining a culture of transparency and trust. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will conduct a comprehensive assessment of current incentive compensation processes, identifying manual, error‑prone steps and prioritizing improvements based on risk and business impact. You will design and build automated workflows and integrations that replace spreadsheet‑based work, using Xactly Incent and Connect to configure calculation rules, plan logic, and approval routing. You will explore AI and LLM tools to automate exception detection, data reconciliation, and common compensation queries, deploying production‑ready solutions. You will collaborate with Finance & Strategy, People Ops, Revenue Operations, and IT/Data teams to ensure clean, reliable data flow across systems. You will document new processes, establish governance controls, and create a continuous improvement cadence that keeps the IC team focused on eliminating friction. You will also support urgent payout cycle requests while driving long‑term operational excellence. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring at least five years of experience in incentive compensation, sales operations, or revenue operations, with a proven track record of systemizing complex compensation workflows. You have deep expertise in Xactly (Incent and Connect) and a strong understanding of CRM and HRIS data models. You are comfortable writing SQL, building data pipelines, and configuring business rules in a calculation engine. You possess analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Excellent communication skills enable you to work cross‑functionally, translating system constraints into practical process recommendations. You thrive in an unstructured, fast‑paced, remote‑first environment and are self‑motivated to own projects from conception to deployment.
