HRIS Manager
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Datadog's People Operations team is seeking a highly skilled HRIS Manager to join our data-driven team. As a strategic problem solver, you will work closely with leadership and employees to ensure Datadog remains a great place to work while scaling smoothly. This hands-on technical role demands excellent knowledge of HR business processes and methodologies, along with a strong analytical and reporting background.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the HRIS Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supporting projects within People Technology. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Owning the end-to-end product lifecycle for your pod's systems and processes, from gathering requirements and designing solutions through testing, delivery, and adoption.
- Serving as the Workday subject matter expert for your domain, advising stakeholders on configuration best practices, optimization opportunities, and governance.
- Assessing when Workday is the right tool and when a specialized third-party platform better serves the business, and partnering with stakeholders on those decisions.
- Designing, building, and maintaining custom Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to surface the right data to the right people at the right time.
- Partnering cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Business Operations, and global People teams to align on requirements, recommend solutions, and drive delivery.
- Identifying and driving AI and automation opportunities within your domain to reduce manual work and increase the intelligence of your systems.
- Managing testing and quality assurance, including regression testing for system updates, new configurations, and third-party changes.
- Creating and maintaining system documentation, change management materials, and training resources that drive adoption across the People team and the broader organization.
- Managing projects independently, scoping, communicating, and delivering with sound judgment about when to escalate.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 7+ years of hands-on HRIS experience with deep Workday knowledge across one or more functional areas. Workday Pro certification is a plus.
- A systems thinker who evaluates the full People tech ecosystem, considering native configuration, third-party tools, and smarter processes.
- Technical fluency to understand integrations, data flows, and downstream impacts, enabling you to make good decisions and write clear requirements.
- The ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear, scalable HRIS solutions.
- Experience in end-to-end Workday implementation and enhancement work, including project management, stakeholder communication, and change management.
- Knowledge of Workday security model design and configuration, with an understanding of how security decisions affect user experience, compliance, and downstream systems.
- A curiosity about AI, automation, and emerging HR technology, and a proactive approach to finding opportunities to apply them.
- Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, adapting when requirements shift, and escalating with good judgment.
