Head of Hardware Partnerships
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Adyen is seeking a Head of Hardware Partnerships to lead the strategic development of our global hardware agenda. This role is a critical position that requires a strong leader to drive innovation and collaboration with our partners, product, and commercial teams. As the Head of Hardware Partnerships, you will be responsible for defining our long-term hardware strategy, driving partner alignment, and leading complex commercial relationships to bring next-generation hardware breakthroughs to market.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Head of Hardware Partnerships, you will be responsible for:
- Setting the global hardware agenda in collaboration with product and commercial teams, defining the roadmap for Adyen's physical presence, and ensuring our partners are aligned with our vision.
- Leading complex ecosystem commercials with our most critical global hardware partners, including negotiating development agreements, joint go-to-market incentives, and supply chain commitments.
- Bridging product and market needs by collaborating with product management to ensure hardware capabilities align with our software ecosystem and translating merchant feedback into technical requirements.
- Scaling global expansion by leading the strategy for hardware certification and distribution in new markets, ensuring our hardware partners are prepared to support Adyen's rapid global growth.
- Driving partner-led innovation by advocating for Adyen's merchants and pushing hardware partners to integrate specific features that solve real-world checkout friction.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5-10 years of experience leading hardware partnerships or product strategy, specifically within the payments, point-of-sale, or consumer electronics sectors.
- A customer-obsessed mindset, with a "product-first" approach to understanding merchant operational challenges and translating those insights into hardware requirements.
- The ability to influence the C-suite of global hardware manufacturers, challenging them to prioritize Adyen's vision over their standard product cycles.
- Operational rigor, with a deep understanding of hardware complexities, including lead times, certifications, and firmware lifecycles.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical trade-offs into simple strategic choices for executive stakeholders.
WHY REMOTE
This role is not a remote position, as Adyen values in-person collaboration and is an office-first company. However, some international travel will be required.
