Head of Finance - Gibraltar

ABOUT THE ROLE Zego is redefining the future of insurance for the gig economy, delivering on‑demand coverage that adapts to the dynamic needs of drivers, delivery professionals and small businesses. As Head of Finance – Gibraltar, you will be a pivotal member of the executive team, responsible for steering the financial strategy, governance and reporting of our growing European operations. You will work closely with the CEO, COO and product leaders to translate Zego’s ambitious growth plans into robust financial frameworks that support scalability, compliance and profitability. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Lead the full spectrum of finance functions in Gibraltar, including budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and statutory reporting. - Design and implement scalable financial systems and processes that meet local regulatory requirements while aligning with Zego’s global standards. - Partner with product, sales and technology teams to embed financial insight into product pricing, go‑to‑market strategies and customer acquisition metrics. - Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and audit readiness. - Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and banking partners, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring compliance with UK and Gibraltar tax regimes. - Build and mentor a high‑performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, data‑driven decision making and cross‑functional collaboration. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Minimum 8 years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably within a high‑growth fintech or insurtech environment. - Proven track record of scaling finance operations, implementing ERP solutions and leading audit and regulatory engagements. - Deep understanding of UK and Gibraltar accounting standards, tax legislation and financial reporting frameworks. - Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights. - Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and non‑financial audiences. - Demonstrated ability to thrive in a remote, distributed team, using digital collaboration tools to maintain alignment and accountability.
