Head of Enterprise Risk

ABOUT THE ROLE Anthropic is building AI systems that are reliable, interpretable and steerable, with a focus on safety and societal benefit. As Head of Enterprise Risk you will be a strategic partner to the executive team, shaping the risk posture that underpins our rapid global expansion. You will own a portfolio of risk disciplines—environmental health & safety, access and lifecycle management, third‑party risk, and new‑facility security—and guide the specialist leaders who execute these programs. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own Anthropic’s enterprise risk framework, identifying, assessing and prioritising risks and embedding governance into business planning. - Lead and develop a cross‑functional team of program managers across EH&S, access, vendor risk and facility security, setting direction, standards and accountable outcomes. - Drive the global EH&S strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance and a culture of safety across all operations. - Oversee access governance, provisioning standards and auditing for all Anthropic facilities. - Establish and run a third‑party risk program, from due diligence to contract security requirements and ongoing supplier monitoring. - Partner with GSIS, IT, People, Legal and Compliance to embed risk controls into day‑to‑day operations and future initiatives. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - 12+ years of enterprise risk, safety, resilience or security program leadership, with proven team‑building and multi‑disciplinary program delivery. - Deep experience designing and owning an enterprise risk management framework that informs executive decision‑making. - Demonstrated success leading EH&S, access, third‑party or facility programs at scale. - Strong people‑management skills, with a track record of developing specialists and maintaining high program standards. - Exceptional communication ability, translating complex risk concepts into clear, actionable guidance for senior leaders. - A systems‑thinking mindset, capable of anticipating future risks and building proactive, durable programs.
