ABOUT THE ROLE
The City of Brantford is seeking a dedicated Environmental Planner to join their team. This permanent full-time position will play a crucial role in supporting the City's efforts to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Environmental Planner, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data related to environmental issues, developing and implementing policies and programs to mitigate the impact of human activity on the environment, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve environmental goals. Your tasks will include:
- Conducting research and analyzing data to identify environmental trends and issues
- Developing and implementing policies and programs to promote sustainability and environmental protection
- Collaborating with community groups, stakeholders, and other City departments to achieve environmental goals
- Providing technical expertise and advice to City officials and staff on environmental matters
- Preparing reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate environmental information to the public and stakeholders
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental planning or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in geographic information systems (GIS) and other environmental planning software
