Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Global Payroll Manager to join our dynamic Payroll team within the Finance function at Adyen. As a key individual contributor, you will play a crucial role in coordinating payroll for 20+ entities globally, working closely with external payroll providers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pivotal moment in our company's growth, as we move towards scalable, automated solutions. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Global Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for executing and controlling payrolls, primarily in the US and other countries in the Americas. This includes validating inputs, managing data flows, and thoroughly reviewing output from global vendors to ensure 100% accuracy before payment. You will also be a champion for data integrity and system efficiency, identifying manual inefficiencies and designing and implementing scalable workflows that connect seamlessly with HR and Finance workflows. In addition, you will be a business partner to our HR and Finance teams, actively managing external payroll vendors to ensure they meet our high standards. You will also be a point of contact for our colleagues, handling payroll-related queries with empathy and speed, and helping employees understand their pay-slip situations. You will bridge the gap between Payroll and Accounting, responsible for General Ledger (GL) journals, month-end reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure our books match our bank. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need at least 6 years of experience in payroll, with a solid grasp of payroll accounting principles and the General Ledger. You will be flexible and thrive in an environment where processes are not always set in stone, and you will be comfortable switching between different operating models and regions. You will also be naturally curious, asking "why" and digging into the details to understand the root cause of discrepancies. You will have a strong preference for experience with Workday and the Workday payroll module, and you will be eager to learn new tools. You will also have experience (or a strong interest) in how payroll impacts the P&L and Balance Sheet. Finally, you will be proactive, spotting errors before they happen and speaking up when you see a better way to do things. WHY REMOTE As a Global Payroll Manager, you will be based in our San Francisco office, but you will be working closely with our team in Amsterdam. You will have the opportunity to work across different time zones and cultures, and you will be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment. BENEFITS The annual base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $195,000 in San Francisco, plus RSUs. To learn more about our compensation philosophy, please click here.
