ABOUT THE ROLE
The Department of Health is hiring a Gardener Handyman Driver to support primary health care facilities across Central Australia. The role reports to the Fleet Officer and the remote Health Centre Manager and focuses on maintaining grounds, managing waste, and ensuring the overall upkeep of clinic campuses and affiliated off‑site sites.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will establish and maintain the grounds of remote clinic campuses, removing green and general waste as required. Your responsibilities include routine landscaping tasks, basic maintenance of outdoor areas, and driving duties to transport equipment and waste to appropriate disposal sites. You will work under the general direction of the Fleet Officer and the Health Centre Manager to support the health service’s operational needs.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
The position requires a physical level 3 qualification. Candidates must be able to perform manual labor, operate basic gardening tools, and drive safely within remote areas. A reliable vehicle and appropriate driving licence are essential. The role demands a proactive approach to maintenance and the ability to work independently in remote settings.
WHY REMOTE
This role is based in Alice Springs and involves working across remote clinic campuses throughout Central Australia. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential health services in a wide geographic area while working in a flexible, remote environment.
BENEFITS
Remuneration ranges from $80,383 to $83,807, including a salary of $67,945 to $70,839.
