FP&A Manager, R&D
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
GitLab is seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional to partner with executive team members across the company, providing timely, fact-based, data-driven decision support to drive critical decisions. As a key member of the FP&A team, you will work closely with the R&D team and report to the Director of FP&A. This is an individual contributor role that offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth and success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a FP&A professional at GitLab, you will be responsible for:
- Influencing outcomes in cross-functional settings and owning relationships with partners while providing advice and guidance.
- Developing financial models to address new and ambiguous business issues or opportunities, as well as overseeing modeling efforts of others.
- Improving and driving financial processes and policies with minimal guidance.
- Translating analysis into clear data-driven storylines and actionable insights/proposals.
- Running large complex projects that improve the company's ability to make better data-driven insights or make the company more efficient.
- Communicating with key stakeholders, including the CFO, CFO staff, and functional VPs.
- Mentoring other team members in modeling, analysis, and finance.
- Independently delivering and effectively prioritizing projects assigned with clear scope.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 7-10 years of experience in a finance role, ideally with an enterprise SaaS software model.
- A BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant degree. Relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus.
- Experience as an expert owning a business function as a finance business partner, with a strong preference for experience partnering with engineering or product leadership.
- Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to quickly build from scratch.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into clear narratives and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to learn and use GitLab.
